If the springs are different lengths, you have not been sent a pair. The springs themselves are not symmetrical, in that the mounting point for the axle is not the same distance from each end of the spring, but the springs themselves should be the same as each other.

Are you sure you are measuring each spring from the same end? One way round the mountings will line up, the other way round they will appear differently spaced.

I think I understand the question now. The axle locating bolt/dowel is not the same distance from each end of the spring. This is normal. The thickest part of the spring is in front of the axle.
There is always a slight variation in unloaded camber so as you say - fit the one with greater curve on the drivers side.

Job done car sits right hight both sides equal
