Perhaps you should add something in for tyres... I've found the servicing costs have racked up on my Aero 8 but not really sure why. I used to pay £3 - 500, but it's been £7 - 950 last couple of years. Also had to have some paintwork done over the last few years as the paint bubbles in a few places. Interesting to hear if it happens on the Plus 8s too...
BUT - my Aero 8 has been basically very reliable and overall running costs are extremely low for what is quite a fast car.
Just the saving on insurance compared with other similar cars goes a long way to pay for the little odd costs, and the depreciation is - of course - relatively low.
And while I hate paying over £500 for 'road tax' in the UK, at least we know the CO2 figures are honest. Morgan may end up being the only manufacturer that doesn't fiddle the figures!!

Yippee!!! IF my tyre measurement is correct I've used about 1.5mm tread in 9000 miles, roughly equal front and rear, which surprised me. I wouldn't go lower than 4mm on a car like a Plus 8, so a new set every 30 to 40K, again surprisingly long life. Clearly I'm not trying hard enough... Brakes...the pads are cheaper than on my Mercs, less than £120 for a set of front ones. Alloy corrosion...always possible but the trad bodies seem to last very well indeed. There are 10 to 15 year old trads that don't seem to have alloy corrosion issues. A case of wait and see....! But even if I end up paying £500 most years and the occasional £1000 I'll be happy.

Crikey..when I read some of your service bills I'm really glad I do my own! £120 for front pads..really? Amazing, isn't it? 30 quid or something for the pads, 10 minutes work. Money for old rope, maybe we should join up with Spanner Juggler and offer Morgan servicing

Money for old rope, maybe we should join up with Spanner Juggler and offer Morgan servicing Good idea.. I can also do rather a nice line in Mig clocks!

OK they are for the carbon/ceramic brakes, but really... Front Pads Pleasure always has a price....!

My front pads from motor factors £12 1979 +8. not fitted. 
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
