Hi Rob, Yes they do. I have to admit I would prefer them in front of me as they were in my S3.
John I agree John. The aero dash looks just right in my opinion. I love my plus 8 but I really do not like the dash. The temp and fuel gauges look totally uninspiring and in the wrong place.

Thanks, John and Martin - phew! A reason not to even begin to lust after one! I do like trad shape Mogs in green, and the leather is lovely, and I actually like the seats. I had bare carbon Tilletts in my Blackbird, and - to my amazement - they were incredibly comfortable, at least for 140 or so miles, which was about as far as I ever drove it in one go, across the Beacons to the Gower, about double the direct route!

In comparison to my Roadster's dash, the +8 is beautiful.

The Plus 8 Dash is a bit "meh"...It is OK, but also a missed opportunity with fat too much black plastic.
Part of the reason is the airbag fitting on the passenger side, but I cannot see why the cover couldn't have been wood veneered together with the rest of the dash, as on Neil's car.
Also there seems to me to be no reason why a nice analogue clock couldn't have been included between the Speedo and tachometer.
But otherwise it does the job.

If you order the manual +8 with the nicer steering wheel (sans airbags) is the passenger air bag deleted? If so, I guess you would have walnut all the way across?

Chaps, I have jusy returned from a brilliant 115 mile run in the Moggie down to Krazy Horse where Stuart had the new Aero 8 for the week end. It was the white one which was featured in last months Mog magazine and I have to say it is a beautiful looking car. The factory have managed to meld the front of the S4 to the rear of the SS to perfection and to drive, it is mental. The horizon which was in front of you moments ago is now behind you however, in my opinion and that of the other invitees, the hood is still a disaster!!! How the factory could expend so much time and effort to come up with this is beyond me. The hood cover and, indeed the hood it's self have more fixings than a nuns knickers and to erect the hood, a qualification in scaffolding would come in handy!! I have never seen such a contraption since the '50's and '60's, even the Trad "easy up" is a master piece compared to this!! I know this has been mentioned before but to get this far down the production line is quite amazing. Mercedes, Alfa, Fiat and latterly Mazda all have brilliant hoods which you can operate one handed. There is no way on earth if you get caught in a shower, or indeed see the rain coming, that you would get the hood up in time to prevent your luggage and the interior of the car being soaked. I was very keen to buy a new Aero 8, but on this showing it will never happen. IMHO, the S3/4 are much better to live with. It will be interesting if further development will take place before the first orders are fulfilled, I hope so.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

The Cream and Green Aero has a roof 'in progress'. The factory have been experimenting with how many fixings are needed to keep it in place and function as it should.
I would expect to see something a little different on the dealer demonstrators.

Saw the same Aero 8 at Ledgerwoods Xmas bash ...beautiful shape, beautiful engine but I agree awful hood arrangement..very clumsy in operation...and the boot arrangement poor..looks like bracketry was knocked up as a DIY project.
The hood alone would put me off..a car at this price level is worthy of a better design in my opinion.
Shame shame shame

Surely the sensible option is to just buy the hardtop and forget the hood?

I am afraid that the forward opening boot is another clever design idea that has placed design over function. I would expect a new car in this class to have a hood that is as functional as the new MX5. Both disapointing items in a car that looks so good. Just my 2 bits worth. I wouldn't be buying one anyway so that is about all my opinion is worth.
