That was me! A very violent crash and the other side of the car is a total mess. Not sure about the cracked block, but the filter was ripped off in the accident. The car would need most components replacing apart from the interior and the drive train....although the rear axle probably took a clout.

A shame he wrote it off....but it's a new car, not a classic so I can't see the issue in not rebuilding it.

What is the significance of appearing to sell the new number plate screw in their advert?

is this the same chassis as a 4/4 or is it wide bodied?
I have asked the ebay seller what the write of category was and does he have a complete car price if it was a "C or D". I believe for a "B" they can only sell parts and "A" it must all be crushed

There was another written off Morgan a year or so back that was advertised in a similar way. It must have something to do with legislation or Ebay rules.

The seller is not selling the car just the number plate screw "this advert is for one new rear number plate screw and cap if you press buy it now this is what you will receive"

Either a scam or perhaps they are unable to sell the car, even for breaking, and you get the car for free!

This car is a total write off.

I have seen other cars ( not Morgans) being sold in this way ie buy a wheel get the car free!!

A reminder to me NOT to drive the Hill - the Red Mist descends when I get on the start line!!!

I think it's to do with the way eBay structures the selling methods if you don't want to auction something.

If the trim was to my taste, I think I would have put in a bid of £2k and used the tub, interior, hood and windscreen to convert my car to a long-door model. But grey leather piped white? No thank you.

The above wreak is an illustration of why in circumstances of a big accident involving a classic/vintage/veteran, you handle all the recovery, keep the car in your possession and make it clear in every communication that the car will be be rebuilt and the only question is who pays.

But, oh dear about the owner. I competed for nearly 30 years and only once was the car damaged enough to need trailing home. Cost me a day's labour (from me) and about £300 in parts. The other off in that time cost me about £40 and was drivable. One drives at 10/10ths in a competition, so you have to accept the odd occurrence of 11/10th and the resulting accident. Off the clock, ie a fun day, 9/10th at the most if not less.

i feel very for the owner, i hope the insurance was ok, that way he can at least get Morgan to build him another. Sad to loose the car but it can be replaced and i understand no-one was injured in the smash.
