Hi again, hope you are all well. I have been trying to purchase a set of locking wheel nuts for my 1993 Plus 8. Nothing in Halfords fits. Has anyone out there found a source.

Not sure on the thread size Ken but I would start by looking at MGB lockers. If all else fails you can have the lockers turned on a lathe and special taper collars made up.
But first confirm the thread.

Thanks Dave, I have rummaged around in the Garage to try and find a bolt that matches the wheel nut but found nothing. It must be a BSF or Whit but have no way of checking. I found a thread back in 2014 that ended saying don't bother but my Plus 8 is kept in a carport so is potentially vulnerable to attack by the low life

More likely it's BSF, a Leyland of that period would be BSF, not sure when Metric came in though. A thread guage would be a cheap way of finding out Ken.

Of course, i've got some somewhere in the garage, will try tomorrow. I tried a 10mm Metric bolt and it sort of screwed in the wheel nut loosley so not a fit. A 12mm bolt would not even start to engage. Think i will try a trout, or cod, or........

7/16 UNF if my memory serves me right. Definitely not BSW or BSF.

On the older +8 I think the thread is the same as the fords of the same period eg escort. not sure when they went metric.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Definitely UNF. But it's not just the thread that is critical, it's also the seating angle between the wheelnut and the ferrul insert that sits in the wheel.
The wheel stud pattern is common to Rover P5 and P6 cars and I believe that the wheelnuts are common to both P5, P6 and Morgan Plus 8s.

Is anyone going to pinch alloys off a Morgan? Hardly going to fit anything else!
