No problems with heat. No insulation either. I sometime wonder if no insulation is an advantage when it comes to engine heat. Also by running the exhaust out the inner fender I get it out fast. There is virtually no interior and what there is is sheet aluminum. The "Itsa Bitsa" is not a beauty queen. But if those carbs equaled (driveability) the performance of the Edelbrock 4 barrel, I think I would convert just for the looks of them.

Probably equal if not better than your existing setup but don't over-carburate the engine; go for 40s rather than 45s.

My engine will pull from 1200 rpm without coughing and from there pulls like a train.

I am a bit sceptical about ceramic coating claims for heat reduction, I think they are a bit optimistic.
My thoughts are towards reduced underbonnet temperatures as the V8 creates a LOT of heat...I have OE cast iron manifolds. Not a lot of room for shielding either.
More head scratching needed I think.
I did get rid of some very light surface rust on the manifolds by scrubbing them with a Scotchpad and Pepsi....they are a decent cast iron grey now ....the Pepsi contains phosphoric acid.

I'm with you on this one; it's heat-soak from the engine that's the major problem. It was an issue with the Rover 3500 in standard spec let alone a comp spec engine. The heat from the engine, transmission tunnel and under-door area is quite considerable in summer.

Having said that, the white ceramic finish does appeal to my vain side!

As I said, I don't have heat problems. However; if it is 100F outside it is considerably hotter inside. I am amused, sometimes, with the attempts to get fresh air into the cockpit. However I have tried to do just this. On My +4-4 Str I put a 3" hole in the Bonnet, covered with a marine grill, into the foot space on the passenger side. To that installed a boat "Bilge Blower" to try and keep Mrs. Button comfortable. When it gets this hot, that the bilge blower was necessary I would look for an "Air Conditioned Motel". Heat shields over the muffler's help. The Roadsters in the U.S. have airconditioning. I almost had an air conditioning unit into the +8 Bitsa. I still have the pieces from "Vintage Air" in Texas. It was, as you call it, a bodge. Mrs. Button passed away and I abandoned the idea.

All this is for people that only drive their cars in the summer.

That is a lovely bit of craftsmanship but I've become attached to my orange lump of plastic.
