Does anyone know where I can get a Lucas dash light rheostat from please -
Managed to break it within an hour of getting my new car!!

Mine does. So much so that when I first got the car I accidentally brushed it with my elbow as I extricated my sylph-like form, it rolled back to the minimum position and I spent the next half an hour believing that all my dash lights had gone!!

Does it actually work? They don't usually. My rheostat DOES work... well kind of.... As you turn the knob: Instrument lights on, lights on, on... on... (still the same intensity i.e. no dim) on... on... on... .... lights off 
 1998 +8 (permanently out of service  )

Mine goes from feeble to dim. I assumed they matched them to the personality and character of the owner...
