When we travel with suitcase, the existing 3rd brake light is obscured. So far, no issues (at least so far in CH, DE, NL, B, F & UK) but maybe we've been lucky. Reading various posts, I understand that if I remove the 3rd light, then that's legal, if I don't, and its fitted but cannot be seen, that's illegal.

Is there any issue with securely fitting a flat Rain Light to my suitcase?

Thanks

The only issue I can see is that it costs £106.
Try one of these, they are only there temporarily anyway, save a fortune and go and buy more wine.

Check DaveW " how to" threads. I am sure he showed how to fit a plug in temp light. There are definitely threads here showing versions.

I can't help thinking that something like this from Amazon is a bit more appropriate at less than 4 quid.

I mounted mine on the lower rail of the luggage rack, where it can be seen regardless of whether luggage is being carried and so can be left in situ permanently:

Yes, it's expensive you buy one new.. but I have one off my old Caterham. The newer ones also flash, though my one, Lifeline, I think, is basic but should serve the purpose.

Surely that's not a "high level" brake light, though? Would it still be acceptable?

I read somewhere 60 cm above std lights is EU law, though not sure if this is accurate.
