WOW... That's a very big intake valve.

BBC Dart Pro I heads only have a 2.2" intake and that is for a 540" motor. Or in a V-Twin, 135ci.

I think you'd be losing a lot of low end torque with valves and the accompanying intake runners. For around a 1.9L Harley, they're using 58mm TB's. Don't know what size the S&S TB is stock or what you would increase it to. I'm still running a 50mm TB on my 1.8L and it has some good low end torque. My RWHP is 92 and some change on the dyno with 100#/' torque at 2500 rpms peaking at around 115. My motor is only a stage I, re-baffled stock 4" SE mufflers with a tuned controller map.

I've just had the Stage 2 kit fitted and it has made my M3W even better

The sound is just incredible...think deep throat M3W......it even managed to set off the alarm on the motorhome...which will upset my neighbours that little bit more if it's a regular occurrence

Hard to say how much quicker it is yet, but it's getting more exciting the more I'm getting used to it. The rev limiter seems a bit closer to 6k and low gears need more respect than before if you don't want the back end wiggling down the road

I already had cat free headers and I'm also running a lower profile rear tyre, so it's probably at performance kit 2.5...and it's fantastic!!?

What rear tyre are you running.

Only once climbing over Cairn o Mount with a passenger have I felt it needed more umph. I have not had the pinking others experience. I dont have the cooling fan & never experieced skip fire.

I'm thinking of installing the Morgan stage 2 kit but am a bit concerned over the exhaust appearance. According to my dealer the new exhaust doesn't allow for the heat shields and is much shorter. Since you've installed one, can you confirm or send me a pic of you completed stage 2 upgrade.

That is correct , the stage 2 exhausts dont come with fittings for a heatshield. The standard heatshield WONT fit 'as is'.

As a low priority I am looking for a solution to this , as burns are an ever present danger.

I have my eye on a few motorcycle clip on heatshields, but for the cost nothing has really grabbed me yet.

It does use the same body mountings as standard though and is approx the same length ... not aware of it being shorter.

its just a curved bit of metal and a few bolts. I am sure your local metal-shop would be happy to throw some together.

Here's a photo showing a Stage 1 pipe (same pipes on Stage 2) without the heat shield. If you want heat shields I believe you can fit the recent type of complete linked bracket assembly replacing the old style two separate brackets. The majority of the silencer section stays at a touchable temperature but a narrow band at the leading end and a wider band at the back end do get extremely hot as evidenced by the colouration of the stainless in the photo. I've got black headers so things might look a little different on yours.
