Glenn: the K&N filter together with Librands manifold/metal-cat gives a nice sound at acceleration but is rather silent when the 4/4 is in "rolling mode".
Some kind of roaring but deep burble is missing. (Hope I use the right words to describe the sound / otherwise please pardon my language limitations, English is not my native tongue)

I have a 4/4 with Librands manifold, cold air induction to k+n filter in standard air box and sports exhaust box from Ledgerwood Morgan.

As the Austrian above says on a small throttle opening I have a deep resonant bark..when the taps are open it is as loud as the Arp4 I tried.
It pops and bangs on the overrun..sounds wonderful through tunnels and reverberates from walls and buildings..I love it !!!..it sounds more powerful than the measured 139.6 bhp...I can almost play a tune on it !!!

I have done two long runs to Italy with this set up with no problems. I found the Arp4 noise oppressive in comparison

Much of the sound will depend on correct fitment so the exhaust does not catch on body...I took time to get this right.

Very happy !!!!

Yes, I can confirm that (fortunately)! And I love it on my black devil - although I have to admit that I´m quite a hardcore afficionado concerning a proper sound of a real sportscar (especially of the last of the real sportscars - as we all know).

I have twin Weber DCOE45's with K & N filters. At cruising in 5th gear around 120Kmh it is just a low rumble but under acceleration it sounds like a Harley. when under rapid deceleration through the gears it has a nice pop and burble. Rapid deceleration with the brakes, it just stalls swear

Some more info on my exhaust noise experience:
Fitted the 2nd part of the Librands exhaust system this afternoon.
Muffler, pipe and end trim. (Librands manifold and cat was done earlier this spring)

Yepp - there is more noise!
It is a deep, full sound.

Quite acceptable when the car does not accelerate.
Quite noisy when pushing the throttle and "very present" when the acceleration is done at high revs.
Sounds like lots of additional horses, but according the stopwatch the car is not doing any better.
Now I have to be much more careful when driving in the city or when police is around.

meabh, it works but the wind does not cover the noise of my exhaust. laugh2

----
I was out for driving an other round and started playing the exhaust sound like an instrument.
It bangs, it burbles, it roars, it even screems but one can run the car at a low noise level too.
No more need to prove to others the Mog runs fast. It sounds fast enough even at low speeds.

Now I know where the organ pedal got its name from. innocent
