Thanks boys! No immobiliser fitted. No smell of petrol or fuel pump noise therefore no power, no ignition light so no spark. Engine cranks over fine so starter motor getting power. 🤔

Oh and the yellow battery light is on but turning over nicely....

Has the inertia switch gone to off?

I just had (1 h ago ) the same problem on our 1990 +8.
We find outit was the fuel pump relay. changed it an it works again.
colors of this relay wiring
white-purple
white-orange
braun
white-slate
bleu-purple
See GoMog
on my car, the yellow dashbordlith is from the inertia switch, it is burning when the red part of the switch is out

A squirt of quick start in the air intake whilst turning over is a rapid fuel diagnosis - if it starts then it's a fuel problem if it doesn't then the likely hood is ignition.
Very useful diagnosis in a can!

I checked all the fuses today plus coil and alternator connections all ok but found a blown 10amp fuse in a live feed from the battery master switch. Replaced but all that did was bring the map light on and the 'check engine' light on.I now have the battery light and check engine light on but no ignition light hence non start. Connected my OBD reader but that won't work because ignition won't come on! I persevere...........

I guess a question is what tripped to blow that fuse? Do you have a wiring diagram you could work that out from? If not you might find it here.

No! I'm going to check the relays this weekend hopefully, everything else seems ok, will post results!
