Good morning all,

For whatever reason, I couldn t get my old password to work again and change my user name from aeromax to loiseau.

Anyway, my Aeromax was at the dealer in Italy over the last weeks and I collected a week ago to drive back home in France

Wonderful drive I must say, with my younger son. We drove past the Mont Blanc tunnel and the 880 kilometres were a real challenge with heavy snow on the way and -21°C outside (Not much more inside the car I must say as the heater isn t designed for such extreme weather. On the Italian side to Val d Aoste, the road was clear and no traffic at all. The beast woke up and amazing digits were read from the tacho smile

Anyway, some interesting news from the dealer:

1-When I lost one of the rear window this summer due to the original glue not coming with any temperature above ten degrees (British summer desugn I guess) the garage used a Morgan supplier glue that should have solved the problem.

It did, but now the window delaminate as the glue is too strong...

Morgan is aware of the issue and the two rear glasses will be changed under warranty when a new type of glue, that cope with high temperatures and do not damage the glass will be approved

2-There was an annoying noise coming from the heater fan. Whilst some work was done to reduce this, the noise has never been eradicated. The dealer told me that Morgan is now developing a new heater fan box that should solve the problem. Avaliable sometimes in spring, and it will be exchanged under warranty

3-At some engine revs, there was some noise coming from the engine, like a whistle or something. This is traced to a design issue in the air filter box. A new box is being designed as well and will be retrofited to the car under warranty in the spring

4-The tyre pressure device sees to be a dead case. It has been reset, and doesn t come up every now and then, but now only monitor three tyres out of four...Apparently Morgan still try to fix it but little hope remains that this useless piece of kit will ever work

5-The leak the car developed in the rear area that sometimes drove the tail windows to open has been fixed using some spacers to lower the elctric latches to increase the pressure on the rubber joint. A new joint has been put in place, the older one was not getting in shape correctly

6-From time to time, the cruise control stop working and the root cause hasn t been identified so far. If someone had the problem on a S4, any tip would be welcome

Nevertheless, I still love my car, it is a delight to drive and to look at!

And today, whilst the temperature is at zero, it is time to enjoy a quick blat in my 1927 three wheelers smile

I just bought a few pillows,
and a Draught Excluder to put in between the seat,
so I can rest my arm on that pillow instead of that rather harsh handbrake-bar
all uk

but that draught excluder might also be used on the door tongue2
when AGAIN I have a cold draught comming from the bad insulated door (last ride, my outside leg almoste froze off) snow

Yes the door is very poorly insulated and my leg as well freeze when it is cold outside...

The temperature was -21°C on the way back from Milan a week ago and the inside temperature was VERY low indeed

This thread may help with the fan noise on the Aeromax .

Reference your password - are you sure you didn't (a) forget your password or (b) have the Caps Lock on when you entered it?

I have set the security of the site so that I cannot view passwords; however, I can reset it for you and then you can log on and change it to something you would rather. Let me know if you'd like me to. smile

Sounds an exhilarating drive and one you will remember for a long time!

And to think that we worry about a dusting of snow in Scotland. Indeed more than that it causes utter havoc!

You are very lucky to have both an Aeromax and a three wheeler. Enjoy!

Kind Regards,

Robert

You mention an issue with the airbox on your Aeromax. Not sure how relevant the following is to your problem.

I have an Aero 8 S4 and mentioned the following to the factory when they were doing my first service which was carried out at my request pre-delivery. I have always felt cars with electronic throttles have a very poor and non linear response (initial delay then sharp takeoff). My current RS6 is a good example of that problem.

The Morgan answer to this was to 'open up' the airbox to allow better breathing and in that way improve throttle response. Not sure what exactly was involved but it works!

Kind Regards,

Robert
