+1 to that. Not a lot more I can add but with years of experience of dehumidifiers in the garage I can confirm that it does everything Nick has said. It will also dry a wet car overnight and dry a wet towel overnight. Plus the fact that it provides a constant supply of distilled water which I use on my acid loving plants.
I'm a huge fan.

A ceramic tiled floor, heating and dehumidification have worked well in the garage for me for nearly 20 years. Walls are white painted plaster with strip lights at shoulder height, to throw a bit more light under the cars. Electric roller shutter doors are very satisfactory too.
A few framed pictures just make the place a little less austere looking.

I ran a layer of self levelling compound over my garage floor and it was a disaster; its all erupted and burst. I can only assume the existing garage floor was contaminated, despite being swept and washed down before the self levelling.

I had a bad experience with garage floor paint.
I did as it said on the tin and left it for a week before parking Archie on it.
The next time I took him out, the tyres sucked the paint off the floor where the tyres had been (only the back tyres fortunately).
I currently have carpet covering the bald patches. Grr!

When the builders laid the screed on my garage a few years ago they had a large roller spike which they ran over the screed before it set

It took several coats of floor paint to stabilise the old garage floor. But the new floor (1988) which has a waterproof membrane, sealed with one. Carpet tiles finish it off.

Flowers? Vases? Curtains?

The one thing I have often wanted in the garage is a urinal. How often do you get started on a job only to feel the need?

Clearly carpet tiles is the way forward Dave, and I do like the fetching grey ones that have been posted on TM.
Alas, I have no windows so no chintz curtains or shatterproof vases of pinks (yuk).
As for the wall decoration, I have some old A Level Art stuff from 2008/9. Oh, and a punch bag that is looking very forlorn...

Now if you live in the country you can use the vast outside facility. Not suitable for those in the middle of town in a public viewed area!!!

Unfortunately this is the case with any water based store bought paint, you really need an epoxy based paint that you get online - must more expensive but durable and won't come off. Same stuff professional garages will be using.

Only issue is I doubt it will adhere to the old paint as well as bare concrete, but as you are only having issues where the tyres are then it could do the trick.

Otherwise cheat - and buy 4 x grey carpet tiles from B&Q and put those where the tyres sit.
