I'm in two minds about chromed and stainless, just not sure.

Glen from the head the exhausts back as far as the cats will change colour going greyer & duller. They can glow red.

Excess heat due to the cats? I've had many Harley's and air cooled twins and never had that problem. Yes, they blue but that's normal, never dull grey

If you check out the spec on the MWS link I posted above, you will see the chrome rim version has stainless spokes and nipples, just like my Velo wink

Re the front pipes dulling, you can get back some of the brightness with very hard work using Autosol. Problem is the high temperatures suffered by the pipes results in deeper oxidisation of the surface.

Still experimenting with other products - plan on trying Shiny Sinks a kitchen cleaning product available in good hardware stores. Works well on dull brass.

I have stainless spokes on my old Harley and they look just as nice as the chrome and they don't rust.

For polishing of late, I've been using mag wheel polish. It's a paste and it seems to be quite good and fast at bringing back the luster of chrome and stainless pipes.

Thanks Dan. That's my M3W soon after delivery over 3 years ago. It's had a few changes since then but the colour is the same Jaguar Bordeaux Red. I think if the car has chrome wires (with stainless spokes and nipples) it looks better with body coloured mudguards. The black ones just don't look right with anything other than black wheels IMHO.

I agree, the black on black looks right imo. I got the opinion of a few enthusiasts at work whilst deciding on my spec and all agreed black on black.

Glenn- I know you are down to the hours waiting for delivery. How far are you from the Factory? Does it get delivered to your Dealer on a transport truck?

I just got word that mine is another 2 weeks behind schedule. Maybe Week 46? I will contact Tom to find out what he has heard.
