After phuffing around for ages ,downloaded iPhone pic of new car to be photobucket,then copied link to thread here ...what have I done
Was wondering how to get onto gallery either direct from photobucket or link in my thread ?

Yes I read that.I pasted just a link to a thread and somehow someone could download the picture to the thread rather than open the link.So that's one step I,m missing
Second step is how you get anything into the photo gallery
The thread above doesn't quite cover this
The add file always says picture too large
I'm sure this is all simple

I also have problems, I can add a picture when posting a new topic but any additional pics then just appear as a link to ... What I can't do is add a picture when replying to a post, there seems to be no facility whatsoever for this although everyone else manages this! I have loads of pictures for Jays ....
Any help appreciated.

You need to use a photo editor or an app to reduce the picture size. I don't know what is available for iPhone but there will be something. Somewhere about 1200 x 900 pixels is good.

Taffmog, that sounds weird. Could the browser you use be the culprit. If you are able to post it should work under all circumstances. Perhaps try another browser.

If you have "material" for "something for Jays" you should get urgent help just kidding...

To talk seriously, and meaning all who have issues, "photobucket" has bettered their links. In the past it was more complicated because some signs had to be deleted, to be more specific the "~original" phrase. This is fortunately gone now and it should work just to copy the IMG line and paste it simply into the post. It is also a convenient way to use the photobucket app if you are in use of an iPad or tablet.

When starting a "gallery" thread I learned that the first pic must be small enough so that it is able to be uploaded directly to TM...which is a must to start it this way if you want to post following pics using a photobucket link. When done the photobucket links as written above should work for all the pictures to follow IN THE GALLERY.. The major benefit to use photobucket is that you never have any hassle to downsize image scales...it is not necessary at all even if your original pic is 14 Mb or even more hughe.

A note, for some funny reason it is NOT possible to post an otherwise good working pic link as a reply into a gallery thread (but it works with any other threads). Only God knows why.

Here is an example when using the iPad app of Photobucket.

Chose the pic after it is uploaded to photobucket



Then touch the second left icon, the square with the arrow up. Then photobucket opens choices, you want to copy so touch the very left icon.



When done photobucket opens some choices. Touch the low line named IMG



When done the photobucket app will reply "link copied"




Voila the pic is here on TM after you just paste it in your post.

If you use your browser it is also easy to do.

First chose a pic and click on the lowest line called "IMG". Copy the whole contend and paste it into your post.
