That yellow looks a fun and sensible high visibility colour.
There's no point in worrying them unnecessarily early - I told mine when I was a week away from picking up my first Plus 8.

I expect MMC will offer any colour you want, at a price....as they do with all other cars. I agree, the M3W needs to be a vibrant colour.
I'm wavering...may place a deposit in the New Year. The only problem is that I don't have space in the garage unless I make some significant changes to the workshop layout. The upside is that I have a 4kw micro power generation station, so running one would be almost 100% free!

The upside is that I have a 4kw micro power generation station, so running one would be almost 100% free! I think you've just answered your own question Peter! Get that deposit down.  Look at the capital outlay as an offset against reduced future mileage-related depreciation on the +8 which would trend down to 'normal for year' as you used the EV3 (EVFree in your case!) for most local and short fun trips. Here endeth the man-maths lesson.

You are EVFree because the capital costs are offset through reduced depreciation on Tarka, and the running costs are electric charging (free in the summer) & Road Fund Licence (free). I'm afraid you will have to pay for servicing and new tyres!

Just take this one step further - as you have a generator the EV3 will be free to run so saving you the cost you would have incured with Tarka. So an EV3 saves you money  And what do you do with the money you've saved? Why take Tarka out for a spin of course

Also servicing should cheaper with no engine oil or plugs and with regenerative braking, fewer brake pads and discs.

If your car is on charge on a sunny day to be free you can't be out in it at the same time.......best buy two, one on charge, one out working (close to home). In the winter go back to petrol.
But really, I believe if you are self employed you can put the whole cost of an electric car against tax. Could wipe out my tax bill easily.

Yes I agree they tend to chomp fuel at maximum output.
The 7-10kW are in the £1k + bracket so not very economic really as an alternative to domestic power.
If you have a remote storage for the car that's a different question. There's always a loss in energy conversion so it must always be cheaper to use the petrol in your car than in a generator
