Drill the baffles! Your M3W will be thankful. The additional noise is something you get used to fery fast!

+1 It's the front one that makes the most difference.

Some more pictures of what people are using would be great. I've seen a couple threads describing it, but some photos would be awesome. I'd like to know what to take with me when I pick mine up in Illinois, cause I think I'd like to have that baffle removed for the drive back to Texas.

Remind me please what size hole saw have folks used to drill the baffles. How far in is the front baffle? Mols excellent post does not specify dimensions.

I run my M3W with the factory stage 1 kit so no drilling fotos available.
When it comes to pure physics: drilling only one buffle plate does not make a lot of sense. Much better to drill both to fee the airflow. The larger the diameter the better the flow. I would not remove the cat as a first step but keep it as a last option for completely free pipes. If you are afraid of noise: you can always put a steel wool sponge or metal strech sheet into the rear end of your pipes for sound damping.

Tools required:
Vice 38mm hole cutter 18" long 3/8" extension bar with socket to fit the hole cutter Cordless drill with adaptor to fit the extension bar Tapping paste or lubricant Patience, it's stainless and tough. Take your time.
I wore out 2 cutters doing mine.
