I have ridden in one that was fully drilled out and de-catted, but with my hearing loss, conversation was damn difficult. I was hoping just removing that one most restrictive baffle would be a good compromise.

I don't know where you are but I have a pair of standard exhausts that were factory blacked (using black paint). I have replaced these with a stage one setup and I'm getting fed up of stepping over them. If anyone wants them for scientific experimentation then it will save me taking them down the tip. Would love to take them off your hands - assuming they are the 2015+ mount style (which I think I have)? Wondering if they would fit in the footwell of the M3W as it would be a nice drive out to Worcs! (Or if you are back in Oxford some time...)

On the other hand when it comes to exhaust tuning, it's all about pipe length. It's quite possible that the front baffle could have more effect than the aft one... but then if you are drilling one out you might as well drill both I suspect!

Anyone reduced the length post silencer? I was thinking a 45degree cut away from the body might do the trick (but wary of my own comment above re pipe lengths!)...

The front ones are the hardest. Be patient and work slow (what else you doing this winter), its a drag job, but your little car will say thank you,thank you. If you want to do only the front, don't bother. Talked to a Tech at S&S and he said leave in the cats as the engine does need a little back pressure--and my conscience feels a little better too.

well job completed, took her for a spin into colchester and the difference was worth it, if you give her a throttle blip it will drop lady elastic knickers on the floor now, perfect when off the beans and sounds right when on them now, lots of pics and vidoes taken by the usual amazed onlookers, high street always good for that, pretty cold though and was frozen when home then started cleaning her again, its an illness it really is, but she runs great and glad I made the plunge on change, g56 filter seems to all work well to she doesnt sound or feel restricted, she actually drives likes a harley now, most bizarre similarity to a bike it really is, absolutley love it, so glad I got her

no left cats, but did both baffles, Cats in my final thoughts should be left, but the improvement of baffle work is fantastic
