I picked up my new stainless wires(MWS) and tyres from Blockley tyres yesterday. A sticker on the wheels (noticed as I unloaded them) said to spray with wax before use - any suggestions as to a suitable wax for stainless wheels?
Here`s a challenge to get your post in before Mr W!!!

Odd as MWS's website ( here ) says no further care necessary.

Should not need any Phil- but a Halfords do a can of light bike spray.

Got the very same on mine a few years ago tried several then picked up a bottle of that showroom shine , and it lasts . I cover the spline area and then spray the full wires both sides on all wheels . That way I have to clean it off end up with clean wires the wax gets into the nooks and crannies .

I used some on the Inside edge of my Wires when i took them all off last Autumn to clean the debris etc - but just as a precautionary coating.

BTW I guess that the unseen inside edges had never been cleaned in 3+ years but they came up like new!!

Only wax I can think of is tyre bead wax and that's used when you are fitting tyres. Usually applied with a brush though!

Why not ask MWS what they recommend Phil?

My MWS wires had stickers on them saying how to look after them etc, unfortunately on three of my wheels the stickers were where the tyre rim seals against the rims. As a result I had three very very slow punctures, so probably worth checking.

I'm guessing the wax is only to help with cleaning -it will just stop a bit of brake dust clinging to the surface and give it a bit of protection and just make it easier to look great with a jet wash of water and very mild shampoo

There are two products that I think will be a good idea to apply as they are brand new before you drive and it's an either or as they don't work together

Auroglyms wheel protector spray -it's an aerosol spray clear protector that cures as it drys - last a few washes

Or (and this will be a real surprise to all regular TMers )

Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer -(gosh really I all hear you say)

But make sure you dry it off with a cloth as it drys streaky

This is hydrophobic so will help prevent water ingress down the spokes

Also has wax to give a bit of protection and shine

It won't last many washes but you could just keep on using that - it lifts brake dust superbly

If it was me with new wheels I'd put several coats of the stuff on leaving it to dry 20 minutes in between

But then I'm silly
