Was dreaming about the mudguard. I would be tempted to fit a stationary mudguard fixed to the frame/body structure. That way you don't have to worry about keeping the stationary parts out of the way of the moving parts (second law of machine design).

It's still not enclosing the rear wheel down as far as the swingarm, which is a shame - it looks like what it is - an afterthought but better than nothing I'm thinking

Grockle - thanks for photo's. Now seen your blog and realised you employed the existing rivnut for right hand bracket, and drilled/tapped for the other three. I did consider employing existing, but it seemed a tad too far back. Also the rivnut by design has a shoulder that sits proud of the swing arm surface, providing for me another reason not to use plain tapped holes, as the bracket wouldn't sit level.

If you do have an issue with threads though (bearing in mind mudguard needs to be removable) it would be a simple task to drill out the threaded holes to M5 rivnut clearance, typically 7mm, and replace with same.

Yes I did fit it and it does line up with the tyre. I am quite pleased the the end result.

Mines identical to yours

Well it's all bolted up and looking good. The mudguard sits very slightly to the left of tyre centre line after bending brackets. However it's noticeably closer to the right side of boot tray wheel hump, although hopefully adequate clearance for the protruding locknut. Roads too mucky to go for test drive

Rough measurements with the bodywork suggest the wheel maybe be offset by about 3/4 inch to the right as fitted by factory. It could of course be the bodywork that's offset to the left as that governs where the tray sits Anyone else noticed this?

My rear wheel was not straight from new, measured wheel rim to swing arm,out by 3/8inch at front end, noticed when fitting Ohlins... still not fitted on rear yet ! no time at mo.......

As long as they go straight when you let go of steering wheel all ok i recon,
