I drove an early M3W in 2012 but decided to buy a 4/4 and modify to my spec. My itch for the M3W has returned and I'm looking at buying a used one. What should I look for- and what should I ask the dealer specifically re mods etc etc? Thanks

Get a model later than 2014. Most of the bugs have been sorted. But the 4/4 is the better Morgan.

A 2012 car is absolutely fine provided the required mods have been carried out.
a. Centa compensator b. Cooling fan - either ducted from Morgan or independently switched c. Timing pulley d. Steel drive sprocket e. Comfort kit - Depending on the cars handling - not all cars need this f. Chassis bracing or chassis replacement.
There's been a lot of discussion through the pages on this forum down the years with some owners developing their own solutions to issues encountered and creating beautiful handling M3W's in the process.
To simply disregard early cars out of hand is not a way fwd. The early cars also have the history so look at each example on merit. The M3W is by far the most exciting and all enthralling vechicle you'll ever drive or own.

Unless an owner of a 2012-2013 can verify that updates have been installed, get a 2014 or later. Other than that, just get one you like. Depending on your weather, you or your passengers might appreciate seat heaters. I bought my M3W used. I would not have chosen seat heaters on a new build, but have appreciated them.
Technically, there's nothing wrong with a 2012-2103, but you might find it in the shop getting updates whose total can easily run $8k USD. Yet, some of the early cars never had issues and didn't seem to need any of the updates. Just a little unpredictable.

By all means all of the above, BUT check the frame CAREFULLY for cracks especially in the front around the suspension mount points. Beyond that the car is wonderful experience

I didn't know that FACT. Better fact than many presidential statements. http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php...hassis_.#UNREAD

Get a model later than 2014. Most of the bugs have been sorted. Not an unreasonable statement but earlier cars with the right upgrades can be well sorted too...so long as they have done a decent number of miles! A low mileage car may be good or may be just waiting to break. But the 4/4 is the better Morgan. Maybe, but the M3W is the much better toy
