I could own either a V6 or V8. Different but a nice drive. That is the 3.0 V6. Never driven a 3.7.

I am now an ex mogger, having had a 2014 3.7 Brooklands Roadster which was amazing to drive but quite the most unreliable car I have ever owned. I keep it for 18 months. The 3.7 has a something called a rev overhang due to the EMS. In essence when you take your foot off the throttle, the revs hang for a few seconds before dropping, can be quite disturbing if you are hurrying in traffic and boy can the 3.7 hurry.. There is a fix, which was applied to mine by Morgan at no cost , but its now an extra and costs the best part of £2000. As I said great to drive, very low to the deck and actually too much power for the chassis and brakes to handle, drums on the rear and single non vented discs on the front. I went back to a classic XK Jaguar XK 120, not as quick, but nicer to drive and much much more reliable

Or at least to My Tastes!!!!!!!! I would like to drive a Modern +4 Duratec. I bet I like it.

Hi, Thanks for all the comments. I had a great morning at Life's Motors which left me convinced that I needed a Traditional Morgan. I then saw a Centenary Roadster and once I sat in it and drove it I decided that this was the car for me. I was convinced that initially I would buy the V8 but fell for the V6. I still have the TVR V8S for when the V8 urge takes me. We had our first ride out in the Morgan on Friday up to Egglestone and then over the tops to Stanhope. I am sure I will have plenty of questions as I get to know the car. Once again thanks for all the replies. Regards, David

The Roadster does seem to have that sort of effect on some V8 lovers....................

Sorry to hear that Fabro.
I have a 2013 3.7
It has the upgraded ECU and so,thankfully I have never had the issue you describe.
As for brakes ...they seem fine to me. But I guess it depends on how you drive.
Anyway all the best for the future in your XK.

My Roadster to sold last month. I really liked the car. The 3.7 is a peach with humping torque right the way though the rev range. The chassis does flex but the handling is still predictable on the limit. I think a stiff chassis allows one to design the suspension system but not sure that is how it worked on the trad, that said I works!
As for the brakes! On a trip to the Alps in the Roadster with few hours of spirited pass climbing and descending we stopped and the smoke coming off the front brakes was alarming. I had to drive up and down the flat road for a few minutes to cool them. Fitting Mintex 1144 cured the problem but it could do with a brake upgrade IMO.
