Evening all. Looking some help!!
I have a slight issue with my Morgan 4/4 1976. The car idles and drives well, however when you push the throttle quickly from idle it hesitates for a couple of seconds. If you gently press the throttle from idle it is fine. I have stripped the carb and replaced diaphragms, I have searched for vacuum leaks but have had no joy. It is definitely getting plenty of fuel and the float level is correct.
Would anyone have any ideas? I can post a link to a short video of the issue if the forum rules allow.
Many thanks in advance

Sounds like accelerator pump to me.
Another thought - Have you changed anything recently? I had a similar issue with my old 4/4 (1985 CVH) which was made worse by a change from the standard air filter to a K&N. This was fixed by changing the carburettor jets (Mike Duncan did this for me).

Thanks Paul
I had replaced the accelerator pump as it was leaking. I will take it off again and take a look. The problem occurs with and without the air filter installed.
Many thanks again.

I can't remember if your carb type is where you can look down it and see the tube from the accelerator pump physically squirt the fuel in when you open the throttle sharpish? If so it should be a good squirt and not a dribble, easy way to see if the pump is doing its stuff.

This is a very common problem on progressive, twin-choke Webers. My '71 4/4 is similarly afflicted. There are reams of discussion on the web from different groups but sadly there doesn't appear to be a hard and fast individual solution. I'm afraid it is a case of trial and error using the various suggestions.
