Hello,
I found this Information of an EUR4 compliant S&S Engine:
Link . It was done in 2013 by an small Danish motorcycle manufacturer, who was thinking ahead.

Regards,

Beltempo

Very interesting indeed. And in particular how they achieved their goal with the S&S 1800 engine internals.

Massive exhausts!!Make the bike look unbalanced- but thats one of the prices to pay.

Sadly I have to agree with PeterJ earlier comments. Big Govt. still write one size fits all regulations. Two years ago, the U.S. drafted new regulations allowing small manufacturers such as Morgan to be exempt if manufacturing "like and kind" cars. In other words, the current 4/4, +4, +8 and Roadster would be exempt from DOT, EPA regulations on the basis of small production and limited use. Still waiting the signatures for final approval. Originally total production read 5,000 cars/year but think this was reduced to 3000. Final may be lower.
Morgan have indicated to dealers that they will start with the Roadster(more profit?) rather than the +4 which majority of buyers want.
Fortunately, the M3W, once registered here in Arizona is not subject to any further inspection. Like the new UK rule, 25 year old cars are no longer subject to any inspection. Only requirement is insurance.
We are likely to see more Federal regulations rolled back and fewer issued.

My understanding that the US regulation specified a currently legal emissions reading from the engine of the newly imported 'old' car. This would preclude all Morgans but the 'Roadster' from coming into the US. At least that is what I was told by several dealers.

Cheers,

Mark

I've heard that as well. I've also heard that Morgan isn't really interested in filling those orders (325 cars ) as they are selling every car they can build right now and have no interest in expanding, ramping up production, etc.

I talked to Mark Leddington about this very issue earlier in the year.

You are right. No real interest in filling the orders.

Production is at capacity, without adding an extra shift to extend the working day they cannot make more...and to do this would require a major change to the organisation of the production side of the business.
Also, it would need a new team of craftsmen to do the work. They have enough trouble training/finding people to replace retirees and leavers.

So there is no realistic way they can go from 750 cars to 1000.
