After you have applied whatever cleaning agent you prefer, try any or all of these - a large, soft-bristled paint brush; pipe cleaners bent around the spokes and used in a reciprocal motion; and, best of all, an old electric toothbrush. Rinse off.

Green Stuff brake pads generate less dust but sometimes give a lowish test reading at MOT time due to the fact that they need to get warm to work really well. I wipe my wheels and tyres down after use - my wife says I'm too influenced by a well known neoprene merchant but I deny it.

Thanks to advice from TM I use a five inch paintbrush.
Works a treat - well the best solution I have found/ been given.
You can raddle the brush between the spokes easily and the bristles reach right though.
Hope this helps. +1 It's the only way that makes any sense otherwise you are cleaning not driving.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

These threads are great, because I always find out about new products I haven't tried yet. Poorboys, eh? I'll give it a try. Does it smell of a roast beef sandwich? Although to be honest I reckon pretty much any of the Citrus/surfactant-based APCs (All Purpose Cleaners) are very good. I have both Muc-Off and Bilt-Hamber's Surfex and they work very well. I have found that buying them in 5-litre containers is much more economical than just buying the single bottles.
