I made an enquiry to Morgan Park recently. Seems that have two sizes.  Was quoted €430 plus shipping. Not sure if the bigger one would be more useful. I like the presence of the strap holders, but is does rather look as if the beetle back has a spider landed on it Melvyn Rutter makes a wood and stainless steel strip version, based on the old designs, but not sure of its functionality. Perhaps see what Morgan have in mind. Tim

I've got the MorganPark small version. Very very happy with it and wouldn't change it for quits. Price sounds about what I paid

I have the larger version from Morgan Park (Foto on the right), I'm very happy with it, no hassel to open the trunk. If you want other options / dimensions, ask them, they made them themselves.

I made an enquiry to Morgan Park recently.
Seems that have two sizes. ... Seems they do black and chrome options too! Very neat, and avoids drilling / clamping the roll hoops. I too like Phil's solution but it probably would interfere with the headrests on the tall-hoop optioned cars like mine. Likewise I'd prefer to use the clamp method with the factory rack - taking some load on the hoops seems to make sense - but again those clamps will not likely fit the tall hoops. So Morgan Park seems best so far, unless the new factory version does something interesting (for example: a swing up/down factory rack integrated with new roll hoops that just plug into the existing roll hoop mounts  ).

We use the factory rack with NASCAR clamps on the roll bar. The clamps haven't slipped in 3 years of use with up to 50 lbs of load. The size of the factory rack is barely adequate for extended road trips and moto camping.

I ordered and received one from Williams a month or two ago and it shipped immediately - at a very good price and reasonable shipping to the US. It arrived missing the fitting bolts, which was immediately remedied by Mike Gardner - very good service.

Ditto on the clamps! Easy to install and requires no drilling of some extremely hard stainless tubes. They look good, too. Some friends of mine went over 8,000 miles in the US of A with smaller rack and no boot storage. It was a challenge but they did it. The passenger foot well will accept a large duffle smooshed by feet!
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
