back again I've had all the pipework flushed through and fluids changes this has provided slightly more heat but not much Ive tried to trace back where the heater cable runs bur loose track of it behind the radio. Can anyone throw any light on where the cable runs to operate the flap

I'm thinking control valve jammed or disconnected

I think inside the heater box is a flap. The cable pulls a level on the outside of the box on the drivers side.. At least that how it was on my 94 +4. Try removing the intake foam & having a look.
