OMG thats dreadful!

I have had a lucky escape- just insured the BMW and LV came up with a great deal - well maybe not so great as I chose ANO .

So far so good!!

BTW have been trying to sort out the issue of wrong electricity meter being charged to our Flat which my son lives in - now approaching year 3 - and two years with the Ombudsman - still not resolved.

Am seriously thinking of involving one of the TV consumer progs!!

I've been looking at the cost of insuring the CLC, it is a 58 plate and worth, perhaps, 5K.
It is insured for 3 drivers and for my personal business use.

Based on the experience of people here you get what you pay for. Cheap policies are great if you never claim....!

Aviva, through a broker Chubb, who took over the previous broker I used, want £545, which is about what I pay for the Plus 8....

LV and Aviva direct both want £310
Last year we paid about £400

Gott and Wynn want £388, including legal cover.
Given that at Gott and Wynn I can talk to a real person we will use them. Dealing with Web based businesses is always going to be a pain. When the C43 is due next year they will probably get it too.

I do a lot of work for the Direct Line Group

Basically I visit all their UK call centres (and they are all in the UK) every year to update their building plans and my business does all their facilities day to day space planning in our design studio

Although I have never used them for insurance, and I assume they do get frustrated customers from time to time like any large organisation in the service industry, I have never ever overheard anything from an agent speaking on the phone or to each other that would put me off using them

From my visits, it's my impression that their customer service centres are populated with very diligent and well trained professional smart people

Their offices are very smart as well

We insured the BMW last year with LV fully comp, NCB protected, full business use for £288. The renewal came through just before we sold the car and they wanted £480 for the same cover. Needless to say they aren't being used this year.

all the website insurance companies use a "bait rate".
Loyalty isn't rewarded., which annoys me,

The broker rates are better, I've been with G&W now for 3 years and the premium went up a bit, but not much last year, mostly the increase in Insurance Premium Tax.

We saved quite a bit on our house insurance with G&W on a like for like policy that was with NFU. When the Land Rover insurance comes up that will be going over to them too. Nice people to deal with which is a rarity in a world of faceless calls centres.

I'm thinking of moving my other two cars over to G&W.

Just got my renewal form from Headley. Unlimited mileage, agreed value, European recovery, Salvage rights, Legal cover. Total premium £291, compared to £273 last year.

Seems liek an excellent deal to me.
