Update on my M3W saga. Production week listed as 17-22 on the build sheet Michael.
Krazy Horse collected my car from the factory yesterday. I went to see it today and it looks great - only one slight problem, the Sport Black car I ordered has for some unfathomable reason been painted Sport Green. I had the option of backing out of the deal or accepting the car as it is. I decided to go ahead and accept delivery on Friday as planned. The car in Sport Green is great - it's just not what I specified.
The other slight niggle is that vintage bonnet catches I specified have been fitted to a bonnet that has been pre drilled to accommodate the standard Dzus fasteners. The unnecessary holes are filled with plastic grommets. Still what do you expect for £43K?
I am sure if the weather improves and the sun shines on Friday all the trials and tribulations of dealing with MMC will disappear in a haze of exhaust smoke.
John

I suppose this is an improvement - mine are filled with an un-painted pop-rivet backed-up by a washer :-)

MCC take note! It should be totally doable to not make a hole. Bespoke, handmade to customers specification...Or IKEA?

My Bonnet has the new catches, but it doesn't have anything on the outer Bonnet that would tell you that the standard ones go somewhere else. But it does have some cowhide grained paper tape over where the round holes for the receiving end of the dzus Fasteners would go and that's not exactly $65,000 car quality.

Good news to hear Euro 4 spec cars start production soon. My original build date was week 9, Feb 27th.
Still no word from my dealer, but with a bit of luck i might see him at the Park it in the Market at Greenwich tonight. John.

Spec errors - had that on my last modern car - turned out to be a dealer oversight...
Bonnet grommets - note my standard (and pre-catch option) bonnet has some additional rivets which could be confused for predrilled catch holes. They are body colour so I never wondered at their purpose (versus any of the other "foibles" ...)

John if what is delivered is not what you ordered some compensation should be offered. If you had refused delivery that would have been an costly embarrassment to MMC & KH. Ask them what they will offer or maybe free decals or a free service. If you disappear in exhaust smoke take it straight back The dealer messed up with my Mustang order, no heated seats I ordered so I got a free service. Tim

What do all you M3W old timers routinely carry by way of spares, tools, creature comforts, etc.?

Less is more JRTOX - I used to carry everything including the kitchen sink but then there's no space left to carry any luggage on long trips for x2 people - so now it's a waxed canvas tool roll with metric & imperial spanners under the bonnet and in the recently fitted locker a fluke test meter, tapes (3M electrical phantom tape - speed tape and gaffer tape), cycle inner tube repair kit metric and imperial Allen keys & waterless wash spray. In addition a small compressor and gauge.
In the boot we've got a gardeners foam knee pad (aids any inspection) plus the standard hide face and puncture jollop.
For touring
Half our luggage is in separate bags in the boot then we've got an 80ltr Givi waterproof bag on the rack which covers us for around two weeks so a weeks worth of clothing in the boot. - including waterproofs unless you're in Grindlewald in which case - yes you've guessed you're wearing them.
