Taffy, What did your specialist discover. I am keen to know what all that noise was in the steering. Dave

So to clarify is the mod on the Series 1 using a Mini pump the same as the BMW pump being used on the Series 2 onwards?
Kind of...on S2/3 Different rack, different plumbing, different wiring But yes, just the same..... S4 onwards is (I believe) using the engine driven pump not electro-hydraulic The MINI pump is no longer available new (although I do have a limited supply), there are also a couple of generations of the MINI pump and you need the right one, also a couple of the plumbing connections are unique Simon @ SiFab.co.uk Thanks Si, lets hope they don't run out soon!

Both my cars had heater issues, however, neither time it was with the control valve. As far as I know the fault lies elsewhere. Ian as Track and Classic says there is a fix for it.....

All, Just an update on the power steering issue is that I spoke to Simon at Si Fab who was a wealth of knowledge. He may be my final saviour but is running with a 6 week wait at the moment. I did try RTCC and it seems they fitted the last kit that Morgan factory held to a GTN last year. I did have another look under the bonnet (well as much as humanly possible) and checked the header tank which I assume is for the power steering as it says to fill with ATF. That seemed empty and it also looked quite "oily" around the pump housing. Would it possibly be a failure of the hose or when the pump goes it drops out all the oil. As you can guess from this painfully hopeful post, I am really going to be hacked off with another year off the road again. Parts are a bloody nightmare now for these cars! Rant over T

Taffy, Sorry to hear that your power steering is still looking troubled. I noted that t50, another Series 1 owner, pointed out that he had his power steering modified to the mini pump locally in Wales. Although personally I would still wait until Simon is free. He certainly has plenty of experience with the Aero S1.

Taffy, Where about do you live? T50 had his upgraded by a really good mechanic in Pembroke Dock, but I think he sourced the parts himself. The mini pumps are available on eBay as refurbes. Plus the landlord where we have our noggins once a month upgraded his many years ago. If it's the sort of castillated bit that meshes on the pump and wares on the series one, I have in my garage one of the last ones that Morgan sold. When my steering eventually goes I will be doing this upgrade, but if it's the bit i think has worn your welcome to it for what I paid. If I can help in anyway p.m. me. They're great cars, but these gremlins can be a bit of a bugger. Aerotaff.

Hi Aerotaff, Many thanks for the possible offer of a failed part. Not sure how to p.m. you, but I live in the cotswolds but commute to my office in Cardiff at least 3 days a week cheers T
