Thank you (not for the first time). Just found the thread and will get one of the recommended ones as my vehicle will be too far from a power source to use a conditioner.

I take it you are worried about the battery going flat? In which case I'd recommend a Battery Brain (or something similar) to disconnect the battery whilst it's not in use.

https://www.batterybrain.co.uk/

I've been using one for 4 years and there's no problem with the immobiliser or ECU. The remote control version allows easy use without having to take the bonnet/cowl off each time and it's much better for the battery to not be regulalry charged/discharged.

It's a useful-looking bit of kit. Thank you.

Chris I dont doubt they work but at £70+ they only do what a switch such as www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/batter...isolator-switch will do. With a bit of ingenuity could be placed reachable from the cockpit.
I have never found the need for one even when car stand for over 2 weeks providing the battery is well charged.

Agreed, a manual cut-out switch will do the job but the Battery Brain will also monitor the voltage and cut out if it drops below 11.8 volts - so you don't need to disconnect the battery every time. When the engine's running the auto cut-off is disabled so the car will keep running if the volts drop further.

Mine's been left for over 5 weeks and with the immobiliser could have run low so it's a safety net rather than a necessity.

Further update: Mark Cerrone called me earlier in the week directly to explain that they had taken my car out for two long trips and, as was the case with the test drives performed by my dealer, the car performed flawlessly and they weren’t able to recreate the problem and, after running checks themselves, couldn’t find anything wrong. The dealer mentioned to me that, although they had found nothing wrong with the relay for the fuel pump, as they had a spare one, they had swapped out the one in my car just in case that was what was causing the problem. Who know’s if that is what it was. The dealer returned the car to me yesterday and my wife and I took it out for a quick spin around Oxford City Centre last night and we took it for a longer trip to Chipping Norton today. All was working well.
If it wasn’t the relay, fingers crossed the gremlin was just a temporary Halloween one that won’t return!

Thanks Shaun that's good news!

I would keep the testing going ....just case eh!

I still suspect a loose fitting/ wire ...hopefully fixed inadvertently with the "fiddling".

Please keep us posted!

Cheers

Oz, thanks for asking. Touch wood, fingers crossed, etc., the car has been running really smoothly and we took it out before Christmas on many trips to the Cotswolds when the weather was very cold but beautiful and sunny. The flying jacket, Norwegian leather helmet with fur lining and heated motorbike gloves meant I could drive in comfort notwithstanding the chilly conditions!
That’s the good news.
The cloud to the silver lining (or, more accurately, the rust to the chromed cowl) is that the front of the car is not looking quite like it should (picture below). The factory have kindly agreed that they will replace the cowl for free but there will be a wait of at least three months as they don’t have any bright work cowls in stock and won’t have for three months as the tooling that is used to produce them is worn and being replaced.
