It's always been the six million dollar question amongst the Morganisti, the lifespan of the simple Trad ladder chassis. Rumours abound, and is always a good talking point over a beer or three but the truth is that no-one knows how long or even how, but they've been bashing them together for eighty years now and as they are the mainstay of the factory business, they'd have to be pretty damn good to manage the monumental shift to a modern chassis without blaming something like legislation.

I think Steve Morris would be a very rich man by now if he'd got a fiver for every guess or suggestion of change to Morgan..!

For the Aero8 Series 5 are they still using the N62? Until when?

Combine Lotus and Morgan volumes and the unit cost would decrease. Many manufacturers share "platforms"...

Sharing platforms may reduce costs, but in my experience it can lead to stifling change and improvement, and every thing feeling the same, just looking slightly different. At least Morgan and a few others dare to be different, why I suspect avids love them. hide

until they run out of engines... which is about now... some may come back from Bristol, and be used in some sort of run-out model, perhaps next year.

Rumors on the next one? I imagine that they are expecting to sell more Series 5.

I've head they're not - from two independent & trusted sources.

That's a shame... Bristol have always had such an idiosyncratic style, nearly my taste, but not quite. One wonders if they'd had something a bit more 'normal' looking if would sell better?

There's quite a bit of Morgan under the skin, same engine, chassis etc, and that's a good thing as it demonstrates just how good the Aero is.
