It’s looks are “challenging” aren’t they...(along with the £250,000 price tag)

I can see where the design has come from - The Bristol 404 and 405 Drophead coupes and if someone knows those designs it is very much a Bristol but it doesn't seem to have the same flowing lines - it looks a bit slab sided

I think the challange is the price tag comparing it to a Areo 8, Plus 8 or anything else for that matter.

Any potential owner no matter how wealthy has got to think of it's resale value

When you consider the new Bentley Continental GT starts at around £160K

When you think how much you end up paying for just the body, interior and name badge over and above a Plus 8 or Aero.....it really doesn’t make sense. Everything else is pure Morgan.

Or it make the Plus 8 look VERY good value!

Either way, I think Bristol has moved from the fringes to obscurity, it would take a very large project to move it back into the front of the stage, something like the TVR project investment/management

indeed

on the subject of TVR - have they actually taken occupancy of a factory yet?

No, my understanding from various statements by the Company that they will be in early next year and car deliveries start in late 2019.

I can't help wondering if they wouldn't be better off subcontracting the build in the first place to someone like Steyr, (everyone else does !!) or Lotus maybe (who after all, have plenty of spare capacity). It would have the advantage of the initial cars being produced by an experienced manufacturer, hopefully avoiding some of the production wrinkles which might afflict an all-new operation.

The yacht company Oyster was very successful for many years by remaining not much more than a telephone and a filing cabinet. All of the building was outsourced to the likes of Landamores and Southampton yacht services; things only started getting tricky for them once they started getting themselves some serious overheads.

I agree Giles but there is probably no profit margin in the predicted selling cost to outsource it

Had another look - at £150k it would take sales from some mass affluent car fans but at £250k its moving towards eccentric millionaires and a vastly reduced customer base.
