The K&N filters also have the bonus of having a locking wire hole for that extra bit of security.

Postscript In the period I could not get the filter off, I found this removal tool, which has just arrived in the post. I mention it as many sizes are available and it would be very easy to order the wrong size. I believe this oil filter business has been discussed before. Please check the S&S website as to WHY you should be using an S&S filter rather than anything else if you want the best for your engine
