Thanks Lawrie.

Your photos take me several years back in time. In the 1980's I used to help in a Rallycross team. We converted a Talbot Sunbeam TI, a Triumph Dolomite Sprint (with a Rover 3.5 V8) and a Rover SD1 with 3.5 V8 engine. I think I still have some photos somewhere in my archive.

So today was one of many of the first big jobs of the whole build. Nerves certainly kicked in!

Also began the removal of the original seat mounts.

Blimey! Exciting stuff. Do you cut the whole roof off in order to be able to fit a roll cage?

It certainly does help but its not essential. The roof has been removed for 3 reason. Firstly the original had a sunroof, secondly the underside of roof had the sunroof mounting points which made it heavy and thirdly I have a non sun roof light skin to put back on.
The windscreen surround was removed because it had a rust hole, as I can but new it made sense to fit a new one as we are at this stage.

I was expecting to see a bit more seam-welding or is that in the next stage ?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I am long way off from starting the stitch welding process. The car is being fully stripped first, lightened where possible, then its off for a 3 stage dipping process. Then the build begins
