Check the oil level in the rear bevel box at the orange oil fill cap on the side. You will need a squirt bottle and fill very slowly to do it correctly. I used Red Line Extreme. Actually, that orange 'fillcap' on the side of the bevel box is the breather and the reason it takes so long to fill through this port is that there is a tubular baffle inside to prevent oil sloshing out. The correct fill port is the hex socket bolt on the rear of the BB, just above the drain plug. All this learnt the hard way by the way!

You've probably found it already, but I'd definitely start with the weekly checks suggested in the manual and build a custom checklist from there.

What a great blog - I seem to have missed it when it came out. RH03MOG blog Google RH03MOG. He crossed the U.S. in 2016 over 3 weeks and maintained a daily blog. Good person to contact regarding extras to take along. Have fun. Let me know where you’ll be in Wisconsin.

I've been tentatively planning a x-country trip but in a slightly different fashion. I have a trailer and am not afraid to use it! Many stops along the way and people to visit. I've crossed this country many times and believe in preparation. With my truck I can bring all the tools I can carry, a picnic basket, many different weight jackets (as winter in the heights is a thing) and still have room for my lady friend!
My car is a 2012 model with all of the upgrades as well as a brand new chassis. All the tires are new so it is basically a new car with many bugs worked out. I still do a daily walk around to make sure I haven't left too many bolts on the road behind me. Vibration has done quite a number on this car so tools and Loctite are a bare minimum.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I flew up to Detroit for the day on Friday to see the 3 wheeler. Beautiful! Great day and took it out for 20 min drive. Ran beautifully. Having luggage rack put on before having it shipped enclosed to Iowa. Great experience with Bret Abraham at AutoEurope. Work continues getting sponsors and the planning of the route. Will meet with computer science students to morrow who have been working on the algorithm to determine the most efficient route, given the criteria. Thanks to all who have responded!

I'd like to caravan with you for a few days in the upper midwest, perhaps along the Mississippi. A stop at the S&S factory in Viola would be good.

Preparation continues! I have handpicked the students to develop the algorithm for the trip route and to begin designing the website and blog site. The dealer is waiting for the luggage rack and mudguard to arrive and be installed before shipping the "Spirit of Grinnell" enclosed to Iowa. Sponsors are being lined up as we speak. Once we have a firm route planned and available to see, I'm hoping that I will be able to cross paths with other Morgan owners during the trip. I have been in touch with the editor of MOG magazine. I will be writing a multiple issue article on the trip as it unfolds. More later!
