Initially I used a CTEK charger through the power socket in the car. I used to notice the charge light flashing on the charger. I was getting an unreliable connection. I connected up a fused connection directly to the battery no more issues.

Same here. Worked fine until the cold snap started this winter. Then the flashing started - no way could I get a reliable connection. I now have a fused, wired connection to the battery through the bulkhead.

My 2009 4/4 was left for a few weeks without charging which drained the battery completely. I was a bit surprised that it went that fast despite having a brand new battery.

I checked whether there is a 'parasitic drain' somewhere, often this is a trunk light or an interior light that is not switched off. Well, the Morgan has neither of them, so it must be something else.

In my car there is a constant current of ~200mA through the fuse of the engine management. This is definitly enough to drain the battery over time.

So I also installed a CTEC extension plug behind the seat that allows a comfortable trickle charge.

Immobiliser circuit & flashing LED driver perhaps?, but 200mA sounds a lot
