My 2015 M3W is one month out of warranty & has 3208km on the speedo.
Recently I experienced the clutch pedal gradually moving out of adjustment until finally it reached the floor & it was impossible to engage gear. At the same time the engine assembly showed extreme vibration particularly at 1800RPM with the car in neutral & stationary.
I am careful when driving to always keep the motor above 2600-2800RPM to avoid lugging & torque shock.
The car was towed to the Sydney Morgan Service Agent & the motor, Centa coupling & clutch assembly removed for inspection.
The elastomeric rubber doughnuts in the Centaflex RS flexible coupling are worn & fretting, allowing movement in the coupling & vibration of the whole assembly. The clutch plate shows uneven wear as does the fly wheel. the slave clutch cylinder is leaking, probably also caused by the vibration, explaining the inoperative clutch.
A new set of Centa rubbers, flywheel, Clutch plate & a slave clutch assembly has been ordered from Morgan.
Has anyone experienced a similar failure?
I just hope the replacement rubbers solve the problem.

walt207, Sorry to hear this news but it will be interesting to see what support you get from Morgan Cars Australia.

Strangely, I have just got off the phone after been given a very sad tale of an owner in Perth WA with a brand new Plus 4.

I am sure you will have better luck and all will be fine.

Really sorry to hear this there has to be some kind of deal to be done, clutch failure at less than 2,000 miles.

Good luck with the repairs.

Why not do the Beazley upgrade to Centa and BB if taking the engine out?

Hi Walt,
I am sorry to hear of your problems. I am interested to hear if the bearing behind the clutch has failed. I have long believed this to be high on the list of possible failures. This is why I have designed my upgrade with a front end support bearing. Look in www.bleazey.co.uk to see how I did it, it is a long read but will put things in perspective for you. I advise you to look at stage three of my kit and get a local machine shop to carry out the work while you have the engine out. The drawings are on my kit page and any competent machinist can do the work for you. Having done this you can change the Centa coupling inserts in about half an hour instead of engine out each time. Do contact me if you need any help.
Good luck,
Phil

No need to apologise Paul, loads of different spellings around. Thanks for thinking of me.

Thanks Phil
Your comments about the Centra coupling & the assembly are downright disturbing & spot on. First thing i will do is check the bearing behind the clutch plate & see if it also needs. replacing.
I am yet to hear anything from Morgan about my problem.

Walt207, how is it all going? I trust you have made good progress with your 3wheeler repair.
