But I do worry about EV's. I was nearly knocked down by one of the bloody silent things the othr day. Me too. If I am going to be knocked down by a car, I would prefer it to be something decent. Not a Nissan Leaf.

Maybe the reason that it is not in the news is that it's not news. If I sent that to any of my editors it would be tossed in the bin and I would be out of work. On the other hand if I sent it to an organisation intent on discrediting climate change science I would probably earn a nice little fee. The warning signs appear in the first two sentences i.e. any headline with a question mark in it is dodgy. And then we read "Recent reports indicate.." If you can't cite the report you don't have a story.

If you can't cite the report you don't have a story. It's nice to hear that you have editorial professionalism there. Here anything is just repeated with no apparent checking. Thanks for the tips (recent reports etc.). I'll keep them in mind. They can join "notional" when applied to grid feed in amounts, and eco friendly when applied to massively polluting short term technology. I'll try and find out more about that wind farm story....it does remain true though, that in California, where the first wind farms were made in "perfect" locations, they stopped repairing the turbines years ago now and that has resulted in thousands of non working monstosities littering their countryside long forgotten since the gov subsidies were used by a few to make a fortune. Meh. Some earlier turbine designs are proving not to last as well as expected, whereas more recent designs are working better. In future, better designs will enable the extraction of more kinetic energy from the wind and work more reliably. I rather liked this quote in one of the comments on the article
The truly appalling aspect of denial and opposition to an ongoing clean energy transition is that every minute spent objecting and denying by older individuals leads to worsening of this situation, with increased cost and suffering in the future for many when those narrow-brained men are gone
