Agree, financial sense.
When I was young I'd drive from Twickenham to Dyce in one go, in a Hillman Avenger. I'd start in the summer at about 5am and it took about 12 hours. I'd stop 3 or 4 times for coffee and fuel.
Back in the day the border was, in time, half way. No dual carriageway after Sterling!
Today? Not sure I'f I'd want to do that trip the same way. I'm 40 years older and the traffic is a lot heavier. The cars are better, it has to be said!

Cracking few days whizzing round The Ardenne notching up the miles for the first service. Rolling hills and empty roads with the sun obliging the whole way.
(making a hash of uploading photo's as usual but you never know....)

Did you drive back, or have the car shipped back?
We drove back, stopping off at friends & family east of Edinburgh & the Wirral. The roads through the borders were fabulous - quick, flowing old A roads, with very little traffic. Will

Nice drive up to Malvern this afternoon. That was yesterdays drive. Dropped the aero off for a service before a trip to Italy and drove the 3 wheeler for the last time as it goes up for sale next week.  On the up side new toy on order  So what's replacing this then

Something with 4 wheels.  Longest I've ever had a car. Just hope I won't miss it too much. It's not getting used the last 3 MOT's show its done less than 500 miles each year. So time for a new adventure.
