Hi, we are being told by a local morgan dealer that our car failed its MOT on a faulty brake light switch and this must be sourced from the factory. We believe this should be a standard part that could be sourced from a local motor factors. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and know of the part number and any parts supplier that could source the parts for us. The dealer is saying that the Morgan Company will not post parts to the garage and the dealership has to pick them up from the factory, thanks

Hi Stevey, I had a similar problem, the switch itself was fine with me but its operation needed adjustment. Don't know how handy you are but its a very simple thing to check and adjust, you can operate the switch button by hand.

Hi Stevey,
maybe the problem is very easy to solve. My 4/4 from 2014 had the same problem 2 weeks ago on our roundtrip to Austria. From one moment to the other the break light stopped working. Because it is very dangerous to drive 800 Km without break lights, I moved into the legroom to the pedals and removed the metal plate together with both switches on. Very easy, there are only 4 cable and 2 screws to open. After checking the function of both switches, I realized that the switches has to loose the contact from the pedal to flash the break lights. And that was my problem, the distance from the switches to the pedal where to small, so you have to press the pedal to maximum way to open the switches. The very easy solving was to but a 2mm shims between the plate and the switchhousing and everything works well now. Because of the shims the switch has now 2mm more way to open and the break light flashes on the very first way of the pedal. So maybe you have the same problem and this could be solved in 30 minutes in every small garage or by yourself. And this could also solve your problem with the switch for the fuel, which is the second switch on the plate
Regards from Germany and sorry for the german english :-)

Sorry I forgot. The plate with the switches is mounted on top of another metal plate which is screwed to the wooden floor. And there is another vertical plate in front of it to protect the switches from hitting them with your shoes.
