Sounds reasonable...

That is not at all as it should be...possibly over tight stitching or poor quality leather.

This is a photo of the stitching on Tarka's seats, 4.5 years and 36,000 miles wear...

OK, it is a different style, but it really shouldn't wear through like that.

My +8 was the first to do this as I tended to slide down the back of the seat. Being conscious of this I now ease my way in not allowing any buttons to rub the leather.

Yeah, I noticed something similar on my seat to the pictures, and determined that my belt was scraping on my way down into the car. I remove the steering wheel every time now, and am very careful to sit then then move to put my back against the seat. The damage has not gotten worse since I first noticed and adjusted my entry, though I'll take another look when I get home.

If you look very closely at the photos you can see on the leather with the damaged colour layer that the grain of the leather has been smoothed out, (as if it has been "ironed") almost disappearing closer to the stitches themselves, unlike the panel it is stitched to. This smooth area runs the length of the seam and I am guessing about 10-15mm wide?
Methinks definite fault in the sewing process.

Ken do you wear a belt? My miles are less and my wear is much less. I suspect sliding down the back seat is not a good idea so I will change how I get in and seated which is already cumbersome. Clearly morgan needs to change how they stitch this as well. Had I known I would have opted for the quilted version.

Let us know what the dealer says. Mine certainly look worse than I remember, so I don't think that changing how I sit down has helped stop it from getting worse.
