On a plus 4, is there a good reason to choose one or the other?
Does it affect the ride?
Does it affect handling?
Thanks for any info

The smaller rims are better with the Plus 4......

But the wide rime, some like better.

What I'm saying is just my personal opinion.
I had on 3 3.0 Roadsters 6x15 wheels, on one they were made of aluminum. This car drove the best. This size as a spoke wheel on a Roadster Sport was also ok.

One had the 16 SS wheels, they are a matter of taste. They were much too heavy for me, the driving seemed more cumbersome. They offer a bit more control over the tyre due to the low profile. But this is only advantageous on modern good roads. On the other hand, the 6x15 tyre helps for a better suspension and I find it gives a lot more character to the Trad's driving characteristics.

If it should be a Plus 4, why not aluminium wheels, it even looks a little leaner than with the 6x15 spokes. But of course the Spokes looks really good and as I said they drive well.

With the 16 wheels the cars look too wide in my view, also wider than with 6x15 spokes, but others like it of course. God bless the variety of tastes and the wide offer.

After ordering my Plus4, I read on here that a plus 4 with 16” rims and wider tyres would be ‘overtyred’ (?)

I chose the 16” strictly on looks and the current fashion for tintops, bigger rims is better. It is my first Morgan.

I think in hindsight I would rather have had the alloys because of looks but also think the car would feel lighter/livelier with narrower tyres. My car does feel very planted on the motorway at higher speeds, though.

If you have a chance I would try plus 4’s with both setups.

My Plus 8 has the 7 X 16 Lightweight alloys and is very planted at all speeds, I would have thought the smaller option would be more suited to a more agile +4.

Having owned 8 Morgans with various wheel types I have to say that the best ride/handling compromise was on those fitted with alloy wheels - unsprung weight and all that. Wires look wonderful but they are a PITA to keep clean!

Avoid bling shiny wire wheels. Go for alloys with higher profile tyres.
