Posted a question before about how to improve the ride. A lot of people were very helpful but after listening to various solutions decided to go to Tim Eyres at Rutherford Engineering.
So Monday morning pulled off the drive at 3-30, yes 3-30 in the morning 275 miles latter arrived in Shaftesbury 8-30
Tim went through what they would do. Replacing the coil springs, king pins and shock absorbers. Dean took the car for a ride to confirm what was required, Tim gave me a Bentley loan car, well it had a Bentley key ring. Off I went, Hayes Motor Museum was the place to visit, excellent. Latter that day Tim rings and they have found the rear brake cylinders seized. Well got to be done. However as I had only had the car less than 3 months, thought will try Richard Thorne to see if that was a warranty issue. No problem, ask Tim to call me and we will issue an authority number.
This morning, Tuesday collected the car. Dean explained what had been done tested the car and adjusted the shock absorbers.
Hood down drove back home. What a difference, softer ride, no blurred vision, steering more feel. Can only say what a wonderful experience. From Tim and his team for the work and for Richard Thorne for superb back up.

Great stuff! And 2 big driving days as well!

Did you go for the AVO dampers to the Rutherford Specifications?

That seems curious about the seized rear brake cylinders... does your car live outside a lot? Glad it was spotted and sorted however!

Enjoy! :>)

Hi, I did the same in February, the full Rutherford AVO set up front and back it made such a difference.
I've just got home from a 2,500 mile trip to the South Of France via the route Napoleon and it now has a really smooth ride and handles superb.
Tim Ayres service was second to none.
Enjoy your new improved ride :-)

I don’t think you are on your own with seized wheel cylinders. Ours is a2014 plu4 and ours were both seized at 10 k miles.

Steve,
They fitted the Rutherford adjustable shock absorbers. There does not appear to be a standard setting, every car is different, and only with their experience and road testing did they set them.
Talk to Tim Ayres, very helpful, and experienced.
Cheers
