An example from me of a once spooky situation that I can now explain.

We lived in an old three story house back in the early 80s, I was around 14-15 I guess.

My mum and step dad decided to renovate the top bathroom as it was ancient.

When they opened up the bath surround, placed neatly under the bath were two old model submarines. Odd, we thought. They looked to be sort of 50-60s era and The were fitted with electric motors which ran on batteries.

I cleaned them up and popped in some new batteries and being a simple circuit they worked. result !

That night I placed them on the fire surround in my bedroom and went to bed. As I was nodding off one of the motors just started up !!! Buuuuuzzzzzzz. well I was spooked I can tell you. I was convinced it was the ghost of some kid playing with a long lost toy !

As I grew up I realised that the most likely explanation was that when I set it down the switch contacts were just barely off. As the room/model cooled in the evening something contracted making the contact and off it went.

The point is 'strange' things do happen that cannot be immediately explained but it certainly doesnt mean anything supernatural is going on.

My friend, who is a funeral director would say:

“If you are lucky enough to wake up in the morning, just enjoy the day.”

As for what’s it like being dead?
Don’t concern yourself, it will happen to us all soon enough!

You mean that your next life is going to be pretty much like your previous life? That's good. I would hate to come back as something unpleasant scared

This discussion of the hereafter all reminds me of a favourite comment from my college friends to the girls:

If you're not hereafter what I'm hereafter you'll be hereafter I've gone

Sadly, all a long time ago.

My brother-in-law died last year whilst working out in the gym. Fortunately the well trained staff performed CPR and with the help of an on site defibrillator kickstarted his heart again.

Took a few weeks for him to fully recover but he commented that as far as he was aware absolutely nothing happened when he flatlined.

Despite his full recovery I'm steering clear of gyms innocent
