The pipe feeding through the nearside rear wheel arch to the fuel system charcoal canister on my aero has been worn through by the tyre at the 90 degree elbow. Probably the result of a session on the Millbrook skid pan, lots of driving round in circles trying to provoke under / oversteer and petrol smelt towards the end, on right hand turns. The car seems to run perfectly well with the perforated pipe, with some 300 miles of fast rural roads being driven on the following day.

For info, the car was supplied on Aeromax 19" alloys with 35 profile tyres, whereas the OEM fitting is 18" 40 profile alloys. Would this possibly give a larger overall diameter tyre, I wonder?

I am waiting to hear if the elbow section of pipe is available separately or if the whole pipe is required.

I wonder if anyone else on here had a similar problem this?

You can compare sizes here.

Thanks Alistair, no real difference between the two sizes with this calculator.

possibly similar, possibly not.

I had an oil pipe rupture: the body was fitted touching the pipe, and wore it away. Assembly, if it was within tolerance, was at the extreme limits. Morgan repaired it under warranty.

Have you looked at the on-line parts guide that was shared some time ago. I know it was for the Supersport/Coupe which has a different rear end but it is helpful for other parts. Just in case you had not come across it before.

Yes, I have this "engraved" into my hard drive, it's a great bit of info. The offending part is the right angle elbow just upstream of part No'd 37 on the Fuel system page. It's just down to how much of the system one has to buy to replace this elbow - too much and it might just be a job for some Gorilla tape!

Great, thank you Jon M they seem to have just the right elbows. The correct part is now on order with MMC but as seems to be the norm, not in stock at the moment. So I'll get the old one off this weekend and see if there's anything matching at CBS.
