After a few months of trailer searching, I decided to go with an enclosed aluminum v-nose 7x12 trailer through EZ-Hauler. I had to order it, which was a process in and of itself, but the wait was worth it. The 3 Wheeler fits perfectly, and the drive in ramp makes loading and unloading a breeze. The V nose adds a ton of functionality with 3 wheeler, and I had some very helpful engineers work out which way it should be parked for the ideal CG & Tongue Weight. Now, it'll be ready to take on the road for some fun weekend trips!

I also changed out the headlights, after the headlight reflector cup broke on mine, and I was finally annoyed enough to change it. Lastly, some photos.

Still not convinced that the headlights look right covering the V-twin engine. Nice colour combination. Why would you want to drive that car in a trailer rather than on the road?

We plan on doing some long drives to the Pacific 1 highway, Napa Valley, and large car shows. This just ensures I'll actually get there with everything I need, plus I can move it across the country now with ease, or bring it to the dealer for work and not have to worry about a flat bed. I'm indifferent toward headlight placement and don't think it's worth 1k to change

Nice trailer. Park it in Carmel and drive Hwy1 south to San Luis Obispo then north on 101 to Hunter Liggett and turn west over the Nacimento Rd. to Big Sur, or better yet north to Greenville/Soledad and east to Carmel Valley and then find your trailer again.

I actually kind of like the large insect look of the centered headlamps, though I find the E3 prototypes to have a more integrated look.

For me, the big concern would be the negative impact on cooling. I can't imagine that blocking the airflow to an air cooled motor would do the motor any good at all.

It would be interesting to take some temperature measurements of the heads, barrels, and oil tank after a long run and do a comparison to a car with 'normal' headlamp mounting. Do you have an infrared temperature gun?

I don't, but maybe I'll grab one. My next upgrade with be an oil temp gauge. I may try to DIY it. I've run it for 5 hours and the only time it left me stranded was when I ran out of fuel. Luckily the PNW has phenomenal temperatures for cars, and with enough layers people are comfy too.

Have you hauled the M3W yet as shown in the pictures?

If so and the trailer tracks okay, you're "probably" okay.

The reason I say that is that trailers need to have tongue weight and pulling your M3W in backwards would tend to add weight behind the axle.

I borrowed a friend's trailer decades ago for my dune buggy, VW powered. I loaded it normally, nose first. As soon as I got on the road and had just a little wind, the trailer would whip back and forth and was just plain scary. I unloaded and backed it up on the trailer and the tongue weight fixed my whipping issues.

I would just say put some bathroom scales under the tongue and then see if when the M3W is loaded that the tongue weight goes up.

I'd rather be safe than sorry.
