I understand that graphene super capacitor / battery hybrids are making encouraging progress.

Super capacitors are being used in busses produced by Alexander Dennis. They offer about 80% of the benefits coming from a large battery hybrid but without anything like the weight and cost penalties of a battery system.

Excellent news. As a booster technology it makes so much sense.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Just passed a Zurich registered TESLA now that must have taken a bit of skill managing the charges enroute, respect. They still are the only attractive all electric + a sensible range IMHO.

I have a client with a Tesla. It's a lovely thing to sit in. It's now 3years old. He's been told its worth 28T. It cost 86T. He says the real world max mileage is 185 on a charge. It's complicated why. Apparently, at one of Tesla's fast chargers it works quickly to 80% then getting the last 20% in takes forever. That coupled with the fact that apparently you mustn't let them get below 10% means that the range is still limited. He loves it though. He also says that the batteries have a seven year guarantee BUT Tesla head office knows your every charge and how it goes. So if you consistently speed charge it (which is not so good for battery life) or if you run it down below 10% they reserve the right to refuse replacement. So if you buy one used you don't know how it was treated. But, whatever else, the thought that my every move and treatment of the car ( you can bet it's logging how you drive) is being relayed to a computer somewhere really attacks my sense of privacy....though I realise I'm an old man and out of date. Still, it's not nice is it? Nick

Teslas are for other people to own.
Technological tour de force maybe, but I'd rather put £85k into a Morgan Aero.
If I was allowed to...…………..

That's a very interesting insight thanks, I really thought they had 250 + miles range. 60K for 3 years motoring It must be a very slow trip from Zurich.

Be interesting to know how many on here either own an electric car or are actually about to buy one in the next 3 months ? Three years, very probably. Or I could take Tarka to these people... https://www.electricclassiccars.co.uk/Has anyone else considered this option? Yes, sort of. We might build a 356 speedster replica: discount the cost of an engine from that build process, and the whole thing makes some sense. Will
