Here is a quick photo of the positioning of the tie that can be slid up and down to hold the hood open, one on each side.
I think a more elegant solution would be a strip of Velcro that wraps around both frames when up and easily undone to put the hood down.

I hold the "flap" of the folded hood against the roof with some elastic cord that runs from the second frame support to the sun visor bracket.

A few words of caution.
1) Check the hood mounting points are not under strain when you have the hood up in the "Taga" position. Each MOG will be different.
and 2) the back of your neck and head will be exposed to the sun through the raised window so don't forget to wear a hat......

1! He may learn fast when he gets exposed to sunshine at temperatures above 30°C

30 degrees is fine. When it gets into the 40's is when it gets to be a problem.

That is why I was puzzled by these "tents" on yer motor...it rarely gets into the 30s let alone 40s in Shropshire!!!

Yes I agree Mark it never ever gets hot enough to warrant one in this country even down here on the English Riviera If it's really warm and I'm going across to Cambridge or Kings Hill to visit either of the Daughters I put the roof up without the side screens and it's never been too hot for me even in the Plus 8 pumping Kw's at you through the firewall.

If I had to have an Easy Up I'd have a zip out rear window fitted, job done.

Certainly an option Richard but the "Taga" top configuration has the benefits of much better ventilation particularly with the side screens off and better rear vision at no cost.

Yes that is better vision and ventilation Gary my concern would be all the road crud getting into the latching mechanism both on the hood and the rear deck. I understand them to be Landroveresque bonnet release catches so I guess will need a liberal coating of grease so attracting road dust.

As I age I seem to need more protection from the Sun. My Friend Loretta who is only 80 and very fair wants the Sun. She is also very concerned that I cannot see traffic as well with the hood or the Bimini top. Western Washington is mild, but Central Oregon and California can be very hot. Eastern U.S. off the West Coast is often very hot. Mrs. Button could not stand the Sun for any length of time. I started to use Bimini tops to protect Her more than anything else. But as I have them, they are easy to store and somewhat waterproof and easy to wash, I use them a lot. My DHC has the rear window with zippers so I can get good air circulation with that. Remember I often put in long shifts driving. Just from a fatigue standpoint they help.
