Likewise.
As an ex MN Officer the RNLI will also get a donation from my estate, as the regular payments will cease.
Midlands Air Ambulance get more regular donations on a quarterly basis, started in their early days when I was still a motorcyclist (I think my supporter number is 226).
My location is on the border with Great Western Air Ambulance, so they get a bit now and again, too smile

As a biker, big fan of the Air Ambulance. Saved many a life. My mate (fellow biker from years back) is one of the pilots for the TVAA. That's him on the right smile

Huge respect to the RNLI volunteers, but in Jersey the RNLI management upset the local crew so much that they resigned en masse .

IIRC the dispute was six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Insufficient direction and oversight from head office of the RNLI, with poor communications with the St Helier station, up against a coxswain, who (according to the report into the matter by the harbour master) was overbearing to the point of bullying.

All very unfortunate; I hope that the RNLI have reviewed their process as a result, so that such a situation can not re-occur.

I was pleased that the general public's reaction to the Daly Mail's recent appalling and small minded attempt to stirpot the RNLI was an increase in donations.

Always two sides to every story Non the less 22 out of the 26 crew members resigned from the RNLI.

Only just seen this thread.
We have a lifeboat station in the town I live, and we hold the boats and their crew with great affection.

I am lucky enough to count the recently retired coxswain as a friend (and fellow petrol-head)

The crews are tough, dedicated and extremely brave.

They are now called by pager; less dramatic than the maroon that was previously used.
The maroon would certainly wake you up in the middle of the night!
